Did you know that every day, in 70 countries, people are mutilated and killed by landmines ?
Every 30 minutes, or 20,000 times each year, someone is killed or injured by a mine. It is a drop in the bucket compared to traffic accidents. Really ?
No, not really, because tens of millions are indirect victims of landmines. The end of armed conflict is not the end of misery. It is compounded by the disruption of agriculture, famine, migration and more. Without the complete removal of mines a resumption of economic and social activity is seriously limited.
Digger D-2, destined for southern Sudan, financed by the city of Geneva
Deeply affected by these injustices a team of young technicians decided to create Digger DTR. Its goal is to restore a future to these communities by developing a suitable and affordable technology to assist deminers.
After seven years of arduous work Digger DTR is ready to begin its struggle against anti-personnel mines.
